Dr Savrina Parevadee Chinien is a member of the research team CELFA (Centre for Linguistic and Literary Francophone and African Studies) at Michel de Montaigne, Bordeaux University. Her areas of interest focus mainly on Creole francophone and anglophone literatures in the Caribbean region and the Indian Ocean.
She completed her PhD in French, Francophone and Comparative literatures at Bordeaux University and worked on the novels of Martinican writers Patrick Chamoiseau (also a scriptwriter) and Raphaël Confiant. She is a member of the African Federation of Film Critics and presently doing research on the movies of the Martinican filmmaker Guy Deslauriers.
