Manuela Esposito - Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”

I am a PhD student in “Cultural and Postcolonial Studies in Anglophone World”, at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. I am working on the four elements (the general idea is a conception 'Nature' which should come out as different as possible from the Western logic). My female authors are: Andrea Levy and the ex/ile's idea of Jamaica, When Rocks Dance by Elizabeth Nunez, the air as a gostly presence in the work Icarus Girl by Helen Oyeyemi, and the element of 'fire' in Marie Helena John’s Unburnable . The title of my thesis is Elemental Landscapes: the Literary and Artistc Forms of Nature.
