A researcher on the American Tropics project at the University of Essex, I am currently in the second year of a full-time PhD within the Literature, Film and Theatre Studies department. Research interests include notions of literary geography, consumption, place and space in the Caribbean. My thesis examines the literary topography of western Trinidad with an epistemological outlook which is local rather than national in focus. An article of mine is to be published in a forthcoming book, The Caribbean Short Story: Critical Perspectives by Lucy Evans et al.
