Cécile Roudeau holds a doctorate in American literature from the Sorbonne. She is Agrégée de l’Université and alumna of the Ecole normale supérieure (ENS-Ulm). She is now Associate Professor at the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris III where she teaches American literature and translation. She published the first French translation of Sarah Orne Jewett’s The Country of the Pointed Firs. Her research interests focus on the articulation between literature, politics and place, specifically on how regionalism questions the twin notions of place and gender.
