Lanie Millar is a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) in the Program in Comparative Literature, where she studies Latin American and African literatures written in Spanish and Portuguese and post-colonial theory. Currently, she is investigating the similarities between historical novels written by Cuban and Angolan authors published in the 1980s and 1990s, in the context of internationalist ideology. She teaches language courses in Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Texas.
