Brittany Osbourne - University of Central Florida

I am a Masters of Fine Arts student at the University of Central Florida. I earned Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and English Creative Writing, and studied abroad at Cambridge University for literature and Ghana for Cultural Anthropology. As a writer, my Jamaican and African American heritage—with a dash of Bahamian ancestry—has influenced my gravitation to an African Diaspora literary tradition. I take a cultural relative approach to literature and the art of writing it; this conference will expose me to a plethora of critical perspectives on a specific African Diaspora literary tradition I love—Caribbean literature.
